A wet day for the North East, so we set off to the Lake District to try and find some dry weather and a short walk around Buttermere.

I have just named some of the pictures, as the walk was just around the lake and easy to find on any map.

Looking back on the way into the valley

There was a strange sheep, so I named it ‘Dye Hard’

Into the village.

The walk around the lake was very scenic.

The evening was drawing to a close so we went back to the village and headed home via Honister Pass.

Fortunately we managed to make ‘Fryer Tuck’s’ in Barnard Castle on the way home for a generous portion of fish and chips!

Retired early and making the best of it. I like walking, photography and wildlife. I am also interested in local history and beer drinking.
